Back into lockdown

We’re back in lock-down and I’m having a blast. After having a little time where it seemed like things were getting better, things got worse again and the city has returned to stage 3 lockdown. Although this is the same level we were at before, it feels like people are generally less observant of the restrictions this time round. You definitely see more people on the streets and in parks, the better weather probably isn’t helping with that.

It also seems like the restrictions aren’t helping too much this time. Masks are due to become mandatory on Wednesday, a restriction that wasn’t here last time. I have a feeling its just going to get more severe, especially as the main fear factor from earlier has greatly dissipated.

It does, however feel easier to return to isolation than it did to get here the first time. It’s probably because we have experience here and its not as drastic a change as it was. There definitely feels like its more resignation and less protest or anger. I think everyone has accepted to that this is necessary, but has forgotten the extent they had to isolate before.

It’s just more of the same fun as we had before. With any luck we’ll be able to go out and see people again in a few weeks. It was a welcome change to be able to see people again as opposed to seeing chat icons pop up or using some voice call solution. We’ll get through it all the same, just a matter of doing the right thing and waiting it out.
