So I’ve moved away from org-static-blog and GitHub pages and back to WordPress again. For some reason Google search console wasn’t able to index my site properly, not sure why. I tried adding some Emacs lisp to the publish command to generate a site map, but still Google was unable to find a site map. I could have tried Jekyll or something to keep with the static theme but then I have to do more work, whereas WordPress is already a compete solution waiting to be used.
I’ve spun up an instance of WordPress on the oracle VPS, and started to customise it. I want to try and set up varnish as a cache, to improve page fetch speed. Maybe I’ll also try Memcached. I have both working on my wiki, so with all the guides for WordPress, it shouldn’t be too difficult to do.
I’m also going to try and use org2blog to write my posts, as I quite liked being able to write and post from Emacs. Although this isn’t a pure Emacs solution, hopefully it’ll work as a close substitute. Lets see how this run goes.
